Cooperation Project
Excavation of educational project in Ethiopia
EWB was selected as the target organization to find the education business model by Samsung Dream Scholarship Foundation. Therefore, we conducted feasibility study in Ethiopia for the purpose of the poverty eradication project with a focus on capacity building of women in extreme poverty.
Ethiopia is one of those with strong will for the development through education. According to its performance status of MDGs, it turned out that all of 8 Goals are predictably attainable or would be made attainable with an effort for improvement in the period of 2010 to 2015 in contrast with other Sub-Saharan Africa Countries. Ethiopian government is performing with regard to MDGs the enlargement of administration service, capacity building, improvement of infrastructure and also trying to establish quick and organized system through solidarity among development partners. Ethiopia is expected to achieve considerable effects with proper supports driven from the consideration of local situation, in that it is now promoting social development through active reformations after the recognition that development partnership with civil society, donors and international organization needs to be strengthened.
EWB wants to proceed with education business by developing new model that highlights the regional characteristics, based on its own successful business model, GAPA project.
EWB established a cooperative relationship with a local non-profit organization, FAWE(Forum for African Women Educationalists)’s Ethiopia branch while on business excavation. FAWE is the Pan-African organization that began to act since 1992 and now has total 34 of branches throughout whole African continents. The organization has developed education business with various partners, mainly targeting on women to attain equal distribution of educational services and female empowerment through regional and national approaches. And it will bring modification and complementary measures in the direction corresponding to Ethiopian regional, cultural and age-concerned distinctiveness. The excavation of education business and the implementation of pilot project are aimed at arranging the way to support the Ethiopian female students and setting long-term development goals.
