The year 2011 has flown by so quickly. Last year, the world's largest forum on development, the Fourth High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, or HLF-4, was held in Korea, the country turned itself from an aid recipient to a donor just within half a century. Recognized as a leading educational development cooperation organization in Korea, the Educators Without Borders was invited to both the HLF-4 and the Busan Global Civil Society Forum to share diverse perspectives on development from the government, private and CSO delegates.

 

Since our establishment in 2007, EWB has pursued the vision of 'the Alleviation of Poverty through Education' during the past five years. Year after year, our growth as a leading professional education organization has been witnessed. The GAPA Project in Burkina Faso has now turned into a long-term aid program with governmental support until 2013. Also the EWB has continued its global educational development projects such as Haiti Model School Project, the UNDP Peer Review Project, feasibility studies in Indonesia, Rwanda and Uganda, one international conference and the Youth Educators Camp during last year.

 

On February 12, 2012, we held the Korea-Africa Day in Burkina Faso hosted by the Association for the Debelopment of Education in Africa (ADEA) to share the educational development experience of Korea with hundreds of paricipants. Heads of African countries, ministers and education reformers in Africa showed their strong interests in Korea's passage epitomized in the expression "MASON (Making Something Out of Nothing)".

We would like to extend our full and unreserved appreciate to our EWB members for the dedication to achieve the projects. True achievements and improvements in the area of educational development are only possible with your efforts and supports from our friends. EWB members will continue working hard in all our projects and in so doing will act as the cutting edge to eradicate poverty through education.
